'MET Costume Institute Gala 2010

This Monday Metropolitan Museum held its annual Gala: the MET Costume Institute Gala. It took me a while but I want to share with you my choise of the best dressed ladies of the night.

These 8 ladies opted for golden/nude gowns and I must say that is nearly always a perfect choice for a big event.
So, here we have (from left to right): Alessandra Ambrosio in Versace, Gwen Stefani in L.A.M.B. (really respect her for wearing her own line to such a big fashion event!), Sarah Jessica Parker in Halston Heritage, Emma Watson in Burberry (very daring dress). Second picture: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Burberry, Anne Hathaway in Valentino (she's my favourite here), Jessica Szohr in Atelier Versace (one of the best looks of the night) and Donatella Versace in Atelier Versace (speaking of the gown and the hair she looks stunning, but let's leave talks about her face aside).

These elegant women have chosen shades of blue for the big night (from left to right): Maggie Grace, Blake Lively in Marchesa (she's shares my 1st place with Anne Hathaway), Amber Valletta in RM by Roland Mouret (exquisite) and Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad Couture (she is my 3rd fave of the night. Stunning).

Here are several more gowns of random colors (from left to right): Ivanka Trump in Atelier Versace (very beautiful lilac color, very gentle on her), Stella McCartney, Liv Tyler and Kate Hudson all in Stella McCartney (each has a beauty of her own) and Kate Bosworth in Valentino Couture.

Spring 2010: Best Runway Looks (Part 2: B)

Badgley Mischka
Badgley and Mischka stay true to their traditions and give us some elegant and feminine day & evening wear.

Balenciaga
Futuristic looks, lots of leather. Love the shoes.

Balmain
To be honest, I am getting a bit tired of that non-stop super-sexy Balmain attitude. And of the prices they demand for their clothes - that is simply crazy. I liked this collection a lot less than the Spring 2009. I think Chtistophe Decarnin desperately needs to change something, otherwise Balmain will fail to go forward and will just stamp on the same stage.

Barbara Tfank
Nothing really impressive here, but nice dresses.

Basso & Brooke
Crazy fascinating prints! My head goes round if I look at them too long)))

BCBG Max Azria
I like the drapery here, the green dress is my most favorite.

Blumarine
Like the color palette, the looks are very fresh.

Bottega Veneta
Can't say that I liked this collection a lot. But the 1st and the 4th dresses here are very lovely.

Burberry Prorsum
I completely fell in love with this Burberry collection! The trenches are so nice, so playful and girly - I absolutely love them!
And the dresses and skirts - the drapery is so perfect, I can't get enough of them :)

Resort 2010 (Part 9: M)

Malandrino
Very elegant & feminine

Marc by Marc Jacobs
This line by Marc Jacobs has more sporty and relaxed style, and this clothes is really good for summer.

Marc Jacobs
This line is more sexy and feminine - I really like dresses here.

Marchesa
Marchesa is perfect for red carpets or other gala events you attend. Georgina definitely knows how to make a woman look stunning.

Marni
Loose forms, slick fabrics - you'll feel confident without being uncomfortable.

Matthew Williamson
I want each and every of these dresses! Perfect.

Max Azria
Absolutely love the style and the spirit of these clothes - sexy, elegant and fresh.

Michael Kors
I have some sort of Marrakech feeling from these clothes, it gives you the feeling of the summer heat or walking on the hot sand or going on a tour to a lost city...

Monique Lhuillier
One word: gorgeous.

Moschino
I fell in love with this collection, it has a lot in common with my style.

Moschino Cheap & Chic
The Twiggy-inspired style is very cute. 2nd dress is the best :)

Resort 2010 (Part 6: G)

Giambatista Valli

I love Giambattista, he makes one of the most beautiful dresses, as you can see here.

Giles
Usually I don't have any emotions about real people modeling for the fashion houses, not the models. But then again, most of the time I prefer it to be a model, not someone "real". Like here - Pixie Geldof might be good in something else, but modeling... Or maybe I just don't get the idea, I can presume that.

Giorgio Armani
Very feminine and elegant clothes, for a very sophisticated ladies.

Givenchy
I picked these looks because this is what I consider to be appropriate for resort/spring. Knowing that Givenchy currently has a quite moody style, these were the best for me.

Gucci

Super-sexy and cool looks at Gucci. Reeeeeeally like them!

Grammy 2010

You must know that this past weekend the Grammy ceremony was held in the US. I have to admit, I was so unimpressed by the red carpet gowns most of the attendees wore that I didn't want to make a post about it. However, there are few who deserve to be mentioned as their looks were quite good.
Katy looked fabulous in Zac Posen, Keri Hilson was a fairytale mermaid, Melody Thornton's dress is divine agaisnt her skin, Jennifer Lopez was all glam in Versace, Celine Dion is very elegant in Aquilano.Rimondi, Fergie is her best self here, Lea Michele is very cute and playful in this dress.

There were so many outfits that could be considered worst that I would have to make a huge list, so I just picked the most ridiculous:

WFT is on Gaga??? That is too much even for her.
Britney? No comments.
Taylor, you look 50 in that dress.
Heidi look square.
Coco? Where are your dwarves?
Since when Rihanna is Father Frost?

Resort 2010 (Part 2: B)

Badgley Mischka

You can always rely on the duet of Mark Badgley and James Mischka if you need an evening gown. Nice fabrics and sexy looks.

Balenciaga

I absolutely love these looks by Balenciaga. They are not too freaky not too weird, just really cool and wearable looks I'd love to have.

Basso & Brooke

Interesting prints with vivid colors - perfect for spring, so yummy :)

BCBG Max Azria

I like these dresses, they look really soft and sexy. But I am quite annoyed by the model's face.

Bottega Veneta

Finally some colors at Bottega Veneta! I've been waiting for them for so long. The idea with rolling up the pants isn't really my cup of tea and I think too few women can actually wear pants like that and not look ridiculous (the picture is not here because I don't like it). But I like the red stripped pant suit - very stylish. And dresses are flawless.

Burberry Prorsum

The clothes is really really nice and seems to be very comfy. But again - the model. OMG. I mean, I like skinny girls, but that is waaaay too much. Just simply a stick, really. No offenses, but I am positive this particular girl should gain a couple of pounds.

Yesterday night in Beverly Hills (California) was held the ceremony of Golden Globe 2010. The red carpet was full of celebrities sparkling and shining and looking fantastic.
