Eat. Pray. Love

Yesterday I went to the movie to see "Eat. Pray. Love" with the wonderful Julia Roberts.
I read the book about 1,5 year ago and I was hugely impressed by it and even got some sort of answers to my own questions while reading it. I like Julia as an actress so it was double interesting for me to see the movie based on that great book.
But first let me say - I think that movies based on films rarely happen to be successful in terms of good reflection of emotions, mood and not always give the information as good as the book did, so it's not that I am skeptical about them ,but... Let's say I just don't expect the same effect from the movie as from the book it's based on.
An I must say it happened exactly this way - the movie is beautiful, colorful, and emotional, and you should go see it at least for the esthetic pleasure - the close-ups of pasta "Bolognese", the wild rhythm of streets in India, the gorgeous Bali nature... But for emotions and thoughts - read the book. Trust me, it's worth it and it is written very well ))

Inception

Last night I went to see the "Inception" movie. My God, it was amazing! I was totally impressed by the script and the level of acting of the cast. Can't call myself a Di Caprio fan, but he is a truly talented actor. The whole idea of the movie is so interesting and thrilling, and I just loved how they mixed several strong ideas together: love and the power of a human's mind. I would definitely watch it again. You have my recommendation.

SATC 2

Yesterday night I went to see the "Sex and the City p.2" movie. It was a lot of fun :)
I think that the point of watching such movies is to cheer up a bit if you need to or just to have fun and laugh, which I did with pleasure. I take this movie as a beautiful picture with a hint of satire or parody of real life. I mean - it was a pleasure to look at beautiful grown-up women in gorgeous clothes and stunning nature, and as a nice bonus I had fun laughing at the silly situations the movie was about. But there were several topics that were sort of deep and serious too - so that the movie doesn't end up as an average american teenage comedy.
Anyways, I had fun and enjoyed it, and I would probably even watch it once again sometime - just for the clothes ;) If you are thinking about seeing this movie - I'd say go, but just don't take it too serious :)

Valentino: The Last Emperor

Yesterday I watched the movie about Valentino Garavani, that was made during 2007. I cried. I do not have enough words to express what I feel about Valentino, the best I can come up with is that he is an icon, he is THE best in what he is doing, he is the real couturier and - most likely - the last real one. I have always admired his works, his creations, his masterpieces, I would even say. I am positive you should watch this movie, it so much deserves to be watched. I miss his works enourmously and I really hope that Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli will be able to do the great brand justice.

Basterds day

Today I went to see the "Inglorious Basterds" movie. Having seen the trailer beforehand I figured I should wear something fitting the movie, so I added a vintage red wool blaser to my jeans to feel closer to the time the movie is about. It looked good, so I'll upload a picture later if I can.

But back to the movie. Well I have to say it was something. I was sitting in tension during whole 2.5 hours, because it seemed to me all the time that SOMETHING is going to happen the next second and it lasted all movie. And I won't disappoint you, A LOT happened. I still haven't decided how I feel about this movie, but I can definitely say it worth watching, so go ahead if you haven't seen it already :)
